We would like to thank you for your compassion and sympathy. We also commemorate the victims of the earthquake and are very sorry for the losses.
You were able to follow the events of the last days and their consequences in the media. Fortunately, we can objectively state that the metropolis of Marrakech is not in ruins. Of course, there is damage and unfortunately many victims to mourn, but the situation in Marrakech is more relaxed than in the surrounding villages, especially in the mountainous regions.
We would like to give you a brief overview of the situation in the city and the status of the sights, so that you can form your own opinion.
This information is the result of our own research and appraisals, from the perceptions of our guests in the hotel and was given to us first hand by our cooperation partners and numerous friends who live here.
The following sights can still be visited:
– Koran School „Medersa Ben Youssef“
– Jardin Secret
– Jardin Majorelle
– Souks in the old town
– Guided tours in the old town are conducted without exception (in all languages)
– Restaurants and cafes are open and happy to welcome visitors
Bahia Palace, El Badii Palace and Saadian Tombs are closed at the moment. These objects will be checked by experts in the next few days and will probably be reopened in the short term. A high sense of responsibility for our guests is close to the hearts of all institutions and hoteliers. Here, prudent action is taken and safety is a priority.
The alleys where houses are damaged or collapsed, which are thankfully not many, are cordoned off accordingly and can be bypassed.
As usual, the mosques in Marrakech are not accessible to tourists due to incidents from the past (inappropriate behavior or clothing).
The roads towards Ourika and Ouarzazate are free and again you can easily go sightseeing, hiking, etc.
The country roads and highways towards Agadir, Essaouira, Taghazout, Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fes, etc. are also free and undamaged.

– Ourika
– Ouzoud Waterfalls
– Essaouira
